Veronique

Veronique Kherian '05
Veronique Kherian (‘05) is a portrait and food photographer and content creator based in San Francisco, California. A former California attorney, she founded her cheese-centric blog, Miss Cheesemonger, in 2009, while working as a cheesemonger in a specialty cheese shop. She still runs it today. While striving to gain “influencer” status in the cheese world, she also began performing with local opera companies and photographing backstage happenings. She grew her photography business from people asking her to take their photos backstage. She still performs in opera and operetta productions, and has launched her own recital series, Miss Cheesemonger Sings, to combine her love of cheese and classical singing. The “Cheese Recital,” as Veronique likes to call it, is a cheese tasting and education experience where each piece of music Veronique performs is paired with a specific artisan cheese.
While at Wellesley, Veronique majored in Economics and French, with a lot of dabbling in art history. Her studies there were the basis for what would become a clear guiding philosophy as a photographer and artist. Finding influence with painters like Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent, photographers like Gertrude Kasebier and Irving Penn, and composers like Marin Marais and G.F. Handel, she approaches each project deliberately, and with a strong classical influence.
As a writer and lover of social media, she also provides her social media management clients with content that speaks to their values and audience needs.
