WCAB Presents: MFA's Virtual Art in Bloom - Women Artists

Sunday, May 2, 2021, 1:00 - 2:00 pm EST on Zoom

Cost: Free for WCAB

Space is limited! Please RSVP at the link below!

WCAB is thrilled to provide this virtual programming and bring some joy from the MFA to Wellesley alums.

This event will be a live, interactive one-hour presentation about the art and flowers with a Q&A at the end. Presented by a team of art and floral guides, the tour features nine works from the MFA collection with a floral design inspired by the art, created by local volunteer garden clubs. We hope this tour brings the Art in Bloom you know and love right to you, wherever you are.

This MFA tour was inspired by the their current exhibition Woman Take the Floor - which celebrates the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution giving women the right to vote. The exhibition - on view through November of 2021 - is a rotating display of objects by women artists’ & a commentary on their often overlooked contributions to the art genres, forms and movements of the 20th century.
Together we will explore nine amazing objects and the beautiful floral designs they inspired, created by our local volunteer garden clubs.  We will also ponder some key questions about the roles & opportunities available to women in the arts - historically and today.

The MFA limits their online Zoom tours to 96 participants and does not record their events.

Because of these limitations, if you are no longer able to join us, please email as soon as you can in case we have a waitlist!

RSVP here! - Space is limited!

Once we reach 96 participants, we will update this webpage with information for our waitlist.

Once you have RSVP'd, we will send you the Zoom link to join us a few days before the event.
