Transitions: How Sales Skills Can Give You an Upper Hand in Your Career with Ahilya Wallia ‘15

Nov 18 2020, 6:30pm - 8:00pm EST

RSVP here!

Online, wherever you are, and free!

Feeling like you’re in transition? Eager to learn how sales skills can further your networking, job search, and career-at-large?

Our speaker this month, Ahilya Wallia ‘15, began her career in sales two years after graduating from Wellesley and transitioning from another industry. She now serves as Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships at ExecOnline, Inc. where she sells leadership development courses to HR executives to use for their employees.
She will address questions around transitions and advancing your career:

-How to take advantage of being “in transition” hunting jobs or switching industries, and why shifting to a sales-mindset is key to your success in securing your next role
-How to develop sales skills to further your networking, job search, and career-at-large
-Why sales is so mis-understood (even considered a “bad” word); what it means in today’s world to be in sales and what the day-to-day experience is like
-How, at senior levels, all careers can have a sales component; why using sales skills is vital to advancing your career, regardless of industry
-Ways you can think about your interactions and personal brand to develop it and several LinkedIn hacks to help with your networking and job search
-Tools you can use as a woman in the workplace to deal with casual comments that might be undercutting your work

Come prepared to deepen your understanding of this important career skill and learn tools that you can begin implementing right away!
