Exclusive Expo Chicago Event for Friends of Art Members
Sept. 16, 2017, Glencoe, Illinois
Time: 11:00 a.m.
This is an exclusive event for Friends of Art Members at Expo Chicago. Members will be treated to a special tour of the Aronson Collection!
Collecting for over 50 years, the Aronsons have assembled over 500 works of art by more than 100 artists. The common thread of their collection is the "imagistic" sensibility that pervaded the Chicago art community in the second half of the 20th century. Most of the works were created by professors and graduates of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. These works have been augmented by interesting examples of Outsider Art, Tattoo Art, the Philadelphia Wireman and an array of self-portraits by over 40 of the artists. Highlights of the collection include works by Jim Nutt, Ed Paschke, Roger Brown, Karl Wirsum, Robert Barnes, and Gladys Nilsson.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Carlyle Madden '82, at ckmadden27@gmail.com or (773) 620-6677. The address of the event will be provided after your RSVP.
