Greetings, '60 Sisters!

We thought we would touch base with you before we all become inundated with holiday preparations. Hope you are doing well and will sail through the season with all the aplomb and contentment that, at our venerable age, should be our just desserts.

We have exciting news: Our very own Linda Gottlieb has produced yet another big film, and she has agreed to share with us the saga of its challenging, 10-year journey from student concept paper to Hollywood premier. (See more below.)

"Congratulations to all of 1960!”. That was the message sent to Mari and Missy by the Wellesley Development Office after reviewing our 2020/21 contributions: 55.4% of classmates participated in giving $609,373, with 21 Durant Society members.

Your class officers will be meeting next in early 2022 and will be discussing ways we can get together as a class, even if only virtually, during the new year. If you have ideas to offer, please be in touch with one of us. Some recent suggestions: more dorm minis or perhaps a cruise, fantastical or even real, if Covid allows. Others?

A reminder: The Class of 1960 Memories Book remains available for just the price of shipping. Please contact Peggy Decker Cohn peggycohn38@gmail.com (Nice holiday present for those adoring offspring?)

Happy Holidays, dear sisters, and may 2022 bring all good things to you and your family.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1 AT FIVE PM. EASTERN
A ZOOM CHAT FOR OUR CLASS WITH
LINDA GOTTLIEB ON THE MAKING OF
BRUISED
STARRING AND DIRECTED BY HALLE BERRY

Co-producer Linda Gottlieb with Halle Berry, and writer Michelle Rosenfarb, Linda’s protegé

Here is an official description of the film which stars and is directed by Halle Berry:

A disgraced MMA fighter finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when the son she had given up as an infant unexpectedly reenters her life.

Unofficially, Linda one of the film’s producers, will tell us the behind-the-scenes story of her ten-year struggle to get the film made, and what it was like to be doing 15-hour days and nights on the streets of Newark.  Plenty of time for Q and A.

N.B. The film will be in movie theaters November 17 and will start streaming on Netflix on November 24.

Please watch for updates on redglow2

THE PREMIERE

(Pictured at right: Amanda Pope '60, documentary filmmaker and Professor of Cinematic Arts at USC joined BRUISED Co-Producer Linda Gottlieb '60 at an LA party at USC to celebrate the premiere of BRUISED.

WE WALKED MORE THAN 1,000 MILES!

With only a dozen reports in as of deadline, the Class of 1960 racked up the equivalent of a march from New York to Miami in celebrating Walktober.  Some walked with dogs, one with a horse. We walked city sidewalks and wilderness trails from brisk Maine to toasty Hawaii. (At right, Andrea Dupree in Cambridge by the Charles.) Bravo for the Octogenarians.

DORM MINIS

Barb Muller writes, “We did a Freeman zoom in August and October and plan another in December. The gals seem to like them and try to be there unless they have other commitments.”

It would be great if other dorms joined in. Please write Barb if you want to join in but aren’t sure where to start:  bgranb9@gmail.com.
