About Reunion

About Reunion

We hope you will join us on campus the weekend of May 26-28, for the Class of 73’s 50th Reunion!

We’re so excited to see you and celebrate our 50th together! Reunion officially begins at 1 pm on Friday, May 26. Everyone will need to pick up registration material and nametags in Shafer, whether you are staying in Shafer or not. Be sure to say hello to the Welcome Committee organized by Jane Risser as well as your reunion co-chairs!

You’ll get a booklet with reunion events in your registration packet. Check here for the latest schedule: https://alum.wellesley.edu/reunion/schedule-of-events/soe. And here for general questions about reunion: https://alum.wellesley.edu/reunion/faq.

We want to highlight some specific ’73 events. Our class headquarters is Shafer. There are 100 beds in Shafer and they are all full! The alumnae association will assign rooms and you’ll find out your room assignment when you get your registration packet. Be sure to pick up your pre-paid insignia.

Dinners and lunches all require pre-registration. Wine, beer, and soft drinks will flow freely at our dinners—but after dinner socials back at Shafer will be alcohol free due to new restrictions by the Alumnae Association.

Friday, May 28.  Social hour will begin in Schafer at 5 pm. Our class dinner begins at 6 pm in Tishman Commons in the lower level of the Wang Center. Jane Condon, a professional comedian and our classmate will entertain us. After dinner social hour begins in Shafer at 8 pm. Enjoy music from our era courtesy of Lisa Foy Wright.

Saturday, May 29. Panel discussion with Karen Grigsby Bates and Callie Crossley from 9-10:30 am in the lower level of Shafer. Topic: “Committing to Joy: An interactive exploration for how to figure out what really brings us satisfaction, happiness even.” Pastries and coffee provided starting at 8 AM. Maud Chaplin has been invited.

Class social hour and dinner from 6-10 pm in the Farol Focus area of the new Science Complex.

After dinner, we’ll gather back at Shafer for a belly dance lesson with Linda Young Miller—bring your insignia!

Sunday, May 30. Start lining up for the parade at 10:15. No need to remind you to wear white and your insignia.

Stepsinging at 11:30 am in The Hay Amphitheatre, led by our class marshals.

Reunion ends at 2 pm sharp; Shafer will close at 2 pm.

We hope to see you all on campus in May!
