Our 45th Reunion June 3-5, 2022: Oh what are we to pack?!

Our 45th Reunion June 3-5, 2022: Oh what are we to pack?!

Wellesley, Wellesley, only to be there!

We are days from the 1977 Class Reunion. Your reunion committee cannot wait to see you back on Campus (and your cheeky grins)! Apparently, there are 111 of us who will be coming to campus to remember our college days. If you are one of those who are packing for our fun-filled weekend, here are some things to remember:

Extremely important: Bring your COVID-19 vaccination card (or some reasonable facsimile thereof) -- one booster is required for those who are eligible (we are).

If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a few minutes." Pack accordingly and remember that it snowed the week before our graduation!!!

For a day by day schedule of Wellesley College Alumnae Association (WCAA)-organized activities, check out this page: 2022 Reunion Schedule. A schedule of our Class-organized activities will be provided at Reunion but here is a preview of what to consider wearing.

Friday: Dress is casual. Bear in mind that it can still get chilly in the evening -- but maybe not if you “dance your class off” later on Friday evening at the Reunion dance party for all classes.

Saturday evening: We’re going to "Party Like It's 1977!" That means you can don any disco style apparel or raiment with disco-themed items, and include Green, Baby, Green!

Start practicing your groovy moves for the dance floor. For extra ideas, check out recordings of Adele Morrissette's Virtually Verdant: Disco Fever dance class, found under "Latest News" on our Class of 1977 website (tap on the disco ball image to expand the blurb and a link is towards the end of the blurb): https://alum.wellesley.edu/class-of-1977

Sunday: Even though wearing bedsheets reminds one of a classmate's creative parade solution at our last reunion, please bring white apparel for the Alumnae Parade. If you ordered an Insignia package, you will have a green pashmina and green pennant for the parade. Don’t forget your green Mardi Gras beads, green bandana, green parasol, green footwear, or any other accessories to "green up" your outfit.

Miscellaneous items:

  • Comfortable walking shoes (it’s a hilly trek to Bates)
  • Masks

  • Any memorabilia you want to show others
  • Camera and/or smartphone
  • COVID home test kit

  • Bathing suit-- because you never know
  • Gym clothes for running or maybe even rowing
  • Roll of paint-safe tape for decorating, and some of that safe-for-walls putty because you may want to decorate your door, if you are staying in Bates

Insignia items will be available for purchase at Reunion. You will be able to buy the pashmina, coaster, and pennant separately, for as long as the supply lasts. Sale of these items will be at specific times during Reunion, most likely Friday Social Hour and Saturday Social Hour. Payment will be via Venmo or Paypal.

Again, it’ll be "Nice To See Yer Back!"*
