Virtually Verdant Kickoff: Our Stories, Our Voices

Sunday, September 11, 2022

The summer flew by but some of us are still on a high from our memorable, fun-packed reunion.  For those who couldn’t make it to our 45th and others who could, we couldn't wait to recreate this special weekend of connection with old and new friends, conversing, disco dancing, step singing, rowing on Lake Waban, and seeing the Global Flora conservatory.

It’s hard to duplicate the camaraderie and energy that kept us up way past our normal bedtimes, but we hosted something that just might be the next best thing…

We premiered the compilation of our 45th Reunion submissions:

Our Stories, Our Voices

Part One*

Here are a few comments from the small group of classmates who had previewed Part One. And now you can all watch it on your own or with your family and friends HERE.

I am madly in love with each and every story, every voice.  I cried, I laughed, I cried, and laughed some more.

I could feel Wellesley in every cell of my body!! Could watch it over and over!!

Wow!! …a phenomenal job putting together a huge amount of input and making a really delightful video that is also meaningful..

The background music, the overlaid images, the collection of photos interspersing our past and present with our vision for the future is so deeply moving! And what a production! Your editing of the visuals with the audio is award-caliber quality!

This is spectacular-truly!!! The edits were perfect as it flowed along seamlessly. 5 stars to you and the team.

The program began with a moment of silence in recognition of 9/11 and how it irrevocably changed our county. President Susan Jacobsen Stone, also introduced our new Virtually Verdant Vice Presidents Linda Coulombe Roybal and Eva Moldovanyi (from Venice!). After the movie, Linda answered questions and we then had time for getting together in breakout rooms., and encouraged everyone to think up about future programs they might like to offer and/or attend.  A good time was had by all!

* Part Two is still in production with an undetermined completion date. Please rest assured that if you submitted material for the video and did not see any of it featured in Part One, it will definitely be in Part Two. Once it is complete, the two-part series will be available for download. Until then enjoy Part One HERE.

Pictured below are classmates in a Bates lounge enjoying themselves at the Ice Cream Social afterparty while viewing several early snippets of the video and sipping on Peppermint Fudge Hummers.
