Lisa Faith Phillips
Class Co-Vice President

After growing up in a small town, Findlay, Ohio, I have relished the culture and community of living in the East Village, NYC, since 1983. After a fulfilling career in book publishing, topped with 10 years as VP at Random House, I now work in digital consulting for French fashion brands. Currently I serve on the boards of the Women’s Media Group, China-US Women’s Foundation, and the New York Wellesley Club (Annual Events Chair).

Do you have any odd hobbies or talents? Since the third grade, I have been writing and performing funny shows, and post-Covid my passion is to “Make America Laugh and Sing Again.” With my recent show “Lessons Learned from Jobs I can Never Put on the Resume,” I was delighted when lots of Wellesley friends came together for a mini reunion.

What’s something about you that classmates would be surprised to learn? My godmother, Faith LeLacheur, Wellesley Class of 1919, changed my life when she paid for me to go to Wellesley. Tragically, in 1979, at the age of 81, she was raped and stabbed to death in her Upper-East-Side doorman apartment. The crime was never solved. Her generous spirit inspired me to follow her example to mentor and support women in need.

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? Fun-loving, enthusiastic, adventurous.

Where was your favorite spot on campus? The root-covered walkways around Lake Waban, and, when the rhododendrons bloom, in front of Clapp Library.

What are you most looking forward to at our 50th reunion? Reconnecting with long-time friends and making new ones.
