Meet the Class Officers
Melissa Jo Zambrana

Since graduating from Wellesley, I have worked at a number of educational institutions including Harvard, Bowdoin, and Education First and received my master's degree in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am thrilled to return to Wellesley College and now serve as Assistant Director of Alumnae Engagement. My work focuses on connecting current student and young alum to each other and the Alumnae Association through events and social media. For fun, I enjoy dancing Zumba, petting dogs, eating Trader Joe's snacks, and looking through all things Mickey Mouse and Disney Parks. Much love to our class <3

I’m a second-year candidate for my Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis International Business School. My graduate research has included artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in finance, global supply chains during the U.S.-China trade war, and ESG data integration. An innovation enthusiast, I have built market research, valuation, and due diligence experience at early-stage investing firms and worked with pre-Series A start-ups on market-sizing, compliance, and business development. I aim to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and social impact through my career and I achieve part of this mission through Sisterwork, a bilingual family education program to empower economic mobility in New Brunswick, NJ. I co-founded Sisterwork in 2019 with a team of three and support from The Resolution Project, Clinton Global Initiative University, and Young People For communities. My favorite Wellesley memory - with absolutely zero shade intended - was seeing my parents’ faces as I marched into the Sev Green tent on graduation day.

I'm currently pursuing my MBA at NYU Stern School of Business with a focus on Strategy and Change Management. I also serve as a financial advisor to clients in the NYC metro area (ask me about financial planning and investments!). At Wellesley, I was the Editor-in-Chief of The Wellesley Review, Historian of Tau Zeta Epsilon, and a physics and English double major. Wellesley has such a special place in my heart so it is an honor to be involved in strengthening The Wellesley Effect! I love working with my fellow class officers on programming and initiatives that matter to you. I hope to see you all when it is safe to do so.

Since graduating from Wellesley, I served in the AmeriCorps Community Health Corps and graduated from medical school. I was inspired by my neuroscience courses and classmates at Wellesley to continue in the field – and now I’m a resident in neurology at Boston Medical Center! Residency is a lot of work, but it’s very gratifying to know that all those years of studying and sacrifices are paying off in the forms of building trusting relationships with patients and partnering with them to help them heal. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with other Wellesley alumnae residents and attendings – we’re everywhere! At Wellesley I was mostly involved in Freestyle, Blue Cancer Society, and the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, but also dabbled in curling. My favorite Wellesley memories include streaking across Sev Green, sprinting for the Peter, performing in Jam On It, and debating the world’s issues over dining hall food.

Some people know exactly what they want in life, and others are pollinators who travel from experience to experience spreading the knowledge they've picked up along the way. Since Wellesley, I've worked at the World Health Organization, in Silicon Valley start-ups, and for the NYC Department of Health. I've been a medical class president, an M.D.-Ph.D. dropout, and finally after 5+ years of graduate school a soon-to-be Master of Health Administration and executive coach, with a mission to fix our health sector. An incredible gift of my Wellesley degree is its versatility, which ultimately led me to find a job I love at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. My favorite memories of Wellesley are of the French House, my SCoopies, (BC)^2 and the Wellesley Outing Club.
