Wellesley Club of Santa Barbara: Faculty Speaker Event
Jay Turner, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Wellesley College, will draw on material from his forthcoming co-authored book, The Republican Reversal: Conservatives and the Environment from Nixon to Trump. The book follows the evolution of the Republican party's position on the environment, from strong support during the Nixon era to today, when opposition to environmental reform is an important plank of conservative politics.

Professor Turner has taught at Wellesley for 12 years and is currently the Director of the Environmental Studies Program. He has also been very involved in the college's sustainabilty initiatives, including the development of its current sustainability plan.
