Diane Helfrey

dianeDiane Helfrey is a Program Officer with JPMorgan Chase & Co., responsible for philanthropic strategy and grantmaking in Los Angeles County and Central California.  The firm’s philanthropic efforts drive inclusive economic growth through workforce development, neighborhood revitalization, small business expansion, and financial health.  From 2015-2016, Diane served as Executive Director for Social Venture Partners Los Angeles, a philanthropic organization that pools the money, time and talent of individuals to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations. From 2006-2010, she was also VP, Client Services for EdTec, Inc., a business services provider for charter schools.  Diane previously spent 10 years with Bank of America and predecessor NationsBank, most recently as Quality & Productivity Executive for the Asset Management Group.  Diane earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BA with honors in Management Science from UC San Diego.  She is active in the Stanford GSB Alumni Women’s Circles program, is a SheEO Activator, a Partner with Social Venture Partners Los Angeles, and recently served as the Board Treasurer of Social Venture Partners International.  

Stephanie Hsieh ‘89

stephanieStephanie Hsieh (’89) is President and CEO of Meditope Biosciences, Inc., an early stage biotechnology company developing revolutionary cancer therapeutics.   She is a biotech/pharmaceutical industry veteran having enjoyed over 25-years serving in a variety of legal and business roles.  Steph’s career began as a patent litigator, where she had the opportunity to represent a wide range of clients from Fortune 50 companies to major academic/research institutions to biotech start-ups.  Prior to taking the helm at Meditope, she worked in senior management roles, leading cross-functional teams to develop and execute business and new product strategies built heavily upon the intersection of the patent laws and regulatory landscape.

Stephanie is a member of Wellesley’s Business Leadership Council, serving as a 2019 Retreat Co-chair.  She also has been and remains an active member of the Wellesley-in-Pasadena Club, having served as President, Treasurer, and Service Day Rep. In addition to currently serving on the board of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association, Stephanie also serves on the boards of the Los Angeles chapter of Biocom and Cancer Support Community Pasadena. 

Steph graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Wellesley College, majoring in Biological Chemistry and minoring in Mathematics.  She also holds a JD from Columbia Law School, graduating as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.  

As a New York native, Steph is amazed that she now calls Los Angeles home, splitting her time between Pasadena and the beaches of Marina del Rey with her Angeleno-native husband, Harlan Irvine, an aerospace consulting Partner at Deloitte.

Martha Tian

marthaMartha Tian is a Consultant for Major Digital Studios and has expertise in content strategy and valuation for OTT video and business development.  Prior to that role, Martha was the Content Strategy Lead, OTT Video, Verizon Digital Entertainment at Verizon and a Senior Director, Data & Insights at ZEFR.
