2020-2021 Admission Season

Hello fellow Alums,

To say these last 6 months have been unprecedented times is a huge understatement.  I hope everyone and their families are healthy and safe while making the best of such turbulent times.

The Miami Club has been in a bit of a Hiatus, but fall is upon us and we will do what we do best and reconnect with each other and the College. It is time to re-focus on connecting with each other and the greater Wellesley College Community. You will be receiving several emails from me inviting us to connect via zoom for a virtual fall get -together.

But for now, I would like to invite you to volunteer to serve on board of the Miami Club. Many of our sibs have moved out of state and we are now looking for a Vice President, a Treasurer, and a VP of Programming. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer. I welcome our younger alums to volunteer with the Club.

Lastly, The Admission Committee is looking for volunteers for this upcoming applicant class. See below message from our Admission Chair Kelly Feintech:

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD ALUMS TO VOLUNTEER WITH ADMISSION INTERVIEWS

Let's start off with some GREAT NEWS...the Admissions process has kicked off and we already have 2 prospective students who want an interview!

What to expect when volunteering? As a working mom of 2 young boys (ages 2 and 4), I understand how busy life can get. I commit to sending you periodic updates with what's coming up.  This will include:

- Individual requests for you to interview a prospective student

- Status of our admissions process and what it means for South Florida

Bookmark the portal! Our one stop shop is the AAR Portal. This is where you will a) accept interview assignments; b) do your interview assignments.  Great resources (e.g. interview guides) can also be found on here.

COVID and Wellesley: all interviews this year will be held virtually and there will be no College Fairs.  Note that you may use any type of platform you feel is appropriate (Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc.) or may simply make a phone call.

Know of another alumna who wants to volunteer? Let me know! We couldn't interview all of the students last year because of high demand - not sure how it will be with COVID this year, but always looking for a few great new ladies to help out.

Lots of information here, but wanted to make sure you had the latest and greatest. Of course, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.  Thanks again for all you do and so excited to have you as a part of our 2020-2021 team!

Thanks so much for reading this far.  Please expect more emails from us.

In solidarity,

Sonia Zeledon Class of '97
