2018 Annual Benefit
Vänskä Conducts Beethoven’s Fifth
The Wellesley Club of Minnesota invites all Alumnae and supporters to our annual evening at Orchestral Hall.
Thursday July 19th
Dinner at 5:30 in the Green Room
Concert begins at 7:30 PM
The program begins with En Saga by Sibelius and a Violin Concerto by Howard. The emotional power of Beethoven’s Fifth is reignited in the Minnesota Orchestra’s vibrant interpretation of this instantly recognizable, rightfully beloved symphony. Also spotlighted in this performance is the Orchestra’s 2017-2018 featured artist James Ehnes. The Beethoven and Sibelius pieces will be performed in the Orchestra’s South Africa tour in August.
Common Roots Catering will provide a buffet dinner that includes a choice of sandwiches (grass-fed roast beef, pesto free-range turkey wrap, or a roasted vegetable and provolone on ciabatta) along with a house side salad and mini salted chocolate chip cookies. And, all of the serving utensils are compostable! Cash bar for alcoholic beverages, soft drinks provided by the Club.
The Club uses the proceeds from this event to fund Club activities and operations, such as admissions recruiting, social events, Directory printing and newsletter mailings.
Ticket sales available June 1st through June 22nd. If you have any questions, please contact the benefit co-chairs: Ellen Luger, ealuger@gmail.com or Jody Strakosch, jstrakosch@alum.wellesley.edu
