Minnesota Orchestra Sommerfest 2019

Celebrating the Americas: Gershwin, Márquez and More

The Wellesley Club of Minnesota invites all Alumnae and supporters to our annual evening at Orchestral Hall.

Thursday August 1st

Dinner at 5:30 P.M. in the Green Room

Concert begins at 7:30 PM

From gorgeously costumed and choreographed Folklórico dances to Gershwin’s iconic American in Paris, this concert is a kaleidoscope of sound and movement that unites cultures through the power of music. Plus, a joyful piece by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez will have you dancing in the aisles. Our conductor will be Akiko Fujimoto and she will be joined by Gabriel Campos Zamora on clarinet and the Los Alegres Balladores dance ensemble.

Common Roots Catering will provide a buffet dinner that includes a choice of sandwiches (chicken salad wrap, Mediterranean hummus wrap (V), or roast beef wrap) along with a house side salad and a choice of cookies. And, all of the serving utensils are compostable! Cash bar for alcoholic beverages, soft drinks provided by the Club.

The Club uses the proceeds from this event to fund Club activities and operations, such as admissions recruiting, social events, Directory printing and newsletter mailings.

Ticket sales available June 10th through July 5th. If you have any questions, please contact the benefit co-chairs:
