From the President

Welcome to the Naples Wellesley Club!

A year ago at this time, who could have imagined the life-altering changes that Covid-19, then largely unknown outside the scientific community, would bring about our lives?  Even as last season's final event, our annual meeting and luncheon, became a virtual event to accommodate the need for protection from the soon-to-be rampaging virus, I expected that I would see many of you at my home for our fall welcome-back event.  It was not to be.

Preventive measures such as social distancing, hand washing, and the diligent use of face masks have proven effective in reducing the spread of the virus and by now, many of us over 65 here in Florida have been vaccinated. Many of those who were house or condo-bound for months are using caution to venture out in small groups, in the open air, and, always, in safety. The board of the Wellesley Club has made a decision to join this group, offering two new programs for those who feel comfortable participating.  As always, the book group continues.

We hope that our gift for next season will be the creation of a new "normal."  Until then, we thank you for your continuing commitment to the Wellesley Club of Naples, and we wish you safety and good health.
