Guest Speaker: Jay Turner, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies, Wellesley College
"What Can the Liberal Arts Teach Us About the Climate Crisis?"
Tuesday, April 7, 2020, 6 PM - 9 PM
Basking Ridge Country Club, 185 Madisonville Road, Basking Ridge, NJ
At a time when the future of the planet is at stake and the value of a liberal arts education is under attack, Professor Turner will argue for the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to climate change. Our most pressing challenges, such as climate change, require the kind of creative and integrative thinking that a liberal arts education fosters.
Professor Turner is an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Wellesley. He holds degrees from Washington and Lee University (BS, Independent Studies), Brown University (AM, American Civilization), and Princeton University (Ph.D. History; Certificate in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy).
