To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf centers on the Ramsay family and their visits to the Isle of Skye in Scotland between 1910 and 1920. Following in the tradition of modernist novels, the plot of this book is secondary to its philosophical introspection. The novel includes little dialogue and almost no action, with most of the story being told through thoughts and observations.
