Boathouse Row: Waves of Change in the Birthplace of American Rowing by Dotty Brown '69

Book Event on Sunday, May 6th from 2 - 3:30pm in Bala Cynwyd

Calling all book lovers, rowers, and historians!

Join Wellesley alumna Dotty Brown '69 at the Bala Cynwyd Library on May 6 for a discussion of her book Boathouse Row: Waves of Change in the Birthplace of American Rowing. According to Dotty, "The book is a history of Boathouse Row, but it’s really a look at the Row through the lens of Thomas Eakins (himself a rower), architect Frank Furness, who built one of the houses and changed the architecture of the Row, and, among other things, there’s a fascinating chapter on the feminist battle to get on the Schuylkill and to the Olympics, all championed by Philadelphia women."

Please RSVP to Hayley @ WIP-Programs@alum.wellesley.edu.
