Community has never meant more to some of us than it has over these past few years as we lived through events never seen in many of our lifetimes. In times like this the familiarity of those who lived a shared experience can provide comfort and stability and have a grounding effect. As Wellesley Women of African Descent we transcend generations and nations and lead diverse lives, however we have a shared experience of Wellesley. WAAD is a forum for fostering those connections, continuing our learning journeys, and hopefully a safe space in which to land to be around people who challenge you, make you laugh, will cry with you, will support you and who also just "get" you.
As the WAAD Governing Board and I embark on this 2021-2024 term we are excited to serve our siblings. We welcome your input, your time, your treasure, and your talents to assist with growing this community and strengthening our ties to each other, to the College and the siblings in the midst of their Wellesley journey. My virtual door is open. I invite you to reach out, provide feedback, ideas or just say "hi."
In Siblinghood,
