WAAD keeps us connected to the College, each other and current and prospective students largely though our programming. Locally-planned events offer invaluable opportunities for us to interact in many ways: at small and large gatherings alike, in person as well as virtually.
Regional Representatives can plan cultural, social, community service, networking, and family-friendly events. Some examples include informal get-togethers at an alum’s home, local park or local library, guided museum tours, book readings & signings, trail hikes, sip & paint, board & brush, family fun days, and casino nights out. Virtual events enable those of us who are physically in different states or countries to get together and have a great time. These events can be just as fun, engaging, and inspiring as in-person events.
Centralized, local programming is also an often-essential component to facilitate in-person participation at organization-wide events, such as WAAD at the Movies and Worldwide WAAD Month celebrations. Additionally, alums can volunteer, individually or in ad hoc committees, to assist Regional Reps by organizing or hosting specific events. These joint efforts are yet another opportunity for us to come together and get to know one another.
Currently, we are looking for Regional Representatives:
- New England (US)
- Northeast (US)
- Central (US)
- Northern Region of Africa
- The Caribbean
- Asia & Australia
We welcome alums serving as Co-Regional Reps, which works wonderfully for large regions. If you are interested in serving as a Regional Representative or as a Local Volunteer, please contact Azizah Yasin '94, VP, Programs. You will serve us and the College well with your very much appreciated volunteerism.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
