Join Wellesley alumnae in a special reading of a play written by Ann Timmons ‘79 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of 19th Amendment and the Suffrage Movement!
Political change has never been easy in America. But is it even possible — especially when two different factions fight for the same thing, using divergent tactics?
"It's My Party!" offers a fresh take on the storied conflict between establishment and radical suffragists. Written to celebrate the 2020 Suffrage Centennial, this play focuses on the daring stunts, shaky alliances, and bitter rivalries that propelled the nation's march toward the 19th Amendment.
With energy, humor and contemporary flourishes, "It's My Party!" delves deeply into an important but rarely probed aspect of the suffrage crusade.
