Day to Make a Difference 2017
Celebrate Wellesley's Day to Make a Difference with the Open Door Family Medical Centers This Sunday!

It's hard to believe that in the wealthiest country on earth, there are parents who wonder how they are going to feed, house and care for their children.  Open Door Family Medical Center is our community's health home for these people.

Please join Wellesley-in-Westchester for an afternoon of learning, service, and activity to support low-income, at-risk women and their families.  Learn about women's health issues and the impact that community health centers like Open Door are making with our most vulnerable neighbors.

THE SERVICE:  Collect newborn essentials to be included in Open Door's Baby Box and bring them with you on September 24th.  Needed are:  diapers (size 1), sleep sack (newborn/small, non-swaddle), wipes, bilingual (English/Spanish) baby books, newborn thermometer and infant baby toys.

THE LEARNING: Join Andrea Ruggiero, Open Door's Senior Director of Care Coordination and Wellness, for an important discussion on women's health and the impact that Open Door is having on prevention and wellness.

THE ACTIVITY:  Put your creative energies to work as we create "Diaper Cakes" to include in the Baby Boxes.

If you can't join us on September 24th, you can still participate.  We are hosting a Baby Box Drive from September 24th through October 15th.
If you can't make it to the event, but would like to donate, please drop items off at any of these locations:

 - Jamie Jensen's back porch at 588 Forest Avenue, Rye, NY 10580

- Liz Marrinan's home at 25 Rockledge Avenue #1104, White Plains, NY 10601. Please call Liz at (914) 450-9778 to arrange drop-off.

Looking forward to seeing you there!  Feel free to bring a friend to make an even bigger impact!
